Thank you Rotary Easters ...

I just wanted to give a big shout out and heartfelt thank you to many members of Rotary East. Despite the challenges and repercussions within the Club of the recent news that key members of the Club Leadership Team will be relocating to the States or elsewhere within the next few weeks, Rotary Easters and friends have accomplished wonderful Service to Humanity in the last two weeks, demonstrating to the max "Service Above Self."
Rotary East Members have worked tirelessly to:
1-Launch (reactivate after many dormant years) an enthusiastic Interact club at IEK High School, and arrange a combined Interact Club meeting next Friday, October 21, with Rotary CA and Rotary STT, at All Saints School, for a joint pinning of the officers by District Governor Haresh ... Such a great opportunity for fellowship and leadership development for our future Rotarians.
2-Solicit and send $2,000 to District Disaster Fund for roofing material and water filters for Haiti relief, within two days of the catastrophic damage caused by Hurricane Matthew, as requested but the District 7020 Disaster Team.
3-Spearhead - and still actively participating in - an incredible community-wide hurricane relief drive for Haiti, filling containers with water, food, infant supplies, linens, clothing, toiletries, and more ... To be shipped to Haiti as soon as possible.
4-Partner with Rotary CA, Saturday, in painting the playground at Ulla Muller Elemenary School.
5-Initiate the "Rotary East 30th Anniversay Permanent Disaster Fund," in recognition of the 30th anniversary of their charter date (October 22, 1986). The fund is to be launched at the BVI/USVI Rotary a Friendship Day at Bolongo Bay Beach, Saturday, October 22, 2016. Desserts, baked by IEKHS Interactors, will be served (FREE) at the Rotary East 30th Anniversary tent. And at the Rotary East Disaster Fund Tent, pledges and donations will be received for the permanent disaster fund.
... 50% of funds collected before the end of 2016 will be earmarked for relief for our sisters and brothers in Haiti, working through directives and programs of the Rotary District 7020 Disaster Team (with every one of these dollars being used for relief supplies).
... 50% will lay the foundation for building the permanent fund, which will enable Rotary East to respond more significantly and readily to local, regional, and global disasters in the future (with every one of these dollars being used for this purpose).
Thank you Rotary East Members ... The world is a better place because of you. Love and blessings. PP Corinne.jpg)
