Thank you to everyone who attended the informative presentation yesterday on Jan 14 2026 at our STT Rotary East ECO club meeting space!

We all learned so much about the many winged things 🐦 🐝 🦋 that contribute to keeping our beautiful island healthy and green 🏝 🌸.

This week on Wednesday (Jan 14) from 6:30-7:30pm the Rotary Club of St. Thomas East ECO hosted an informative talk on local island pollinators. Ashii Vrohodis - DSc in Avian Health and Nutrition, is a VI resident, STT East ECO Rotary club member, and ESRAG Pollinator Ambassador passionate about birds and their importance to our local environment. We often give bees all the credit but here we learned about the lesser known heroes (and troublemakers) of pollination. These keystone species are vital to the future of our island ecosystems.

Thank you to all who joined us in person and online!

Ashii shared one of her favorite pollinator friendly plants from her garden. Two lucky winners went home with the Blue Porterweed, a beloved flower for hummingbirds and butterflies that blooms almost all year 🌸!
The STT Rotary East ECO community space was packed full with those attending the Wings of Change presentation. Guests who attended in person also enjoyed light refreshments from My Brother's Workshop.
After the presentation, Ashii answered questions from the many curious backyard gardeners, environmentalists and avid birdwatchers in the audience.

We are sharing a copy of the presentation slides and handout as a reference to all the great information that was shared!
